Our Story
Steve McIlvaine is the owner and founder of McIlvaine Home Team with Keller Williams Realty and holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Villanova University. His professional background includes operations management, project management, and financial management. When he’s not working, you can find him either traveling or rooting hard for his Philly teams. A fun fact about Steve is that he considers himself a WWII and Civil War buff.
Sarah is from the Detroit, Michigan area, and went to the University of Michigan for undergraduate studies and holds a Masters in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. She spent 10 years working in the mental health field until their first child, Eliza, was born. For the last eight years, she has managed the McIlvaine household while also providing valuable marketing support to the business. February 2020, Sarah got her Virginia Real Estate license so she could help more buyers find their first or next home. When Sarah’s not working, you can find her in her garden or traveling or out with friends having a glass of wine.
Steve and Sarah have called Northern Virginia their home since 2001 and live in Annandale. They have two little girls, Eliza and Emma.
Giving Back
Steve co-facilitates a life workshop for high school students and young adults (Quantum Leap). Giving back is a value of the McIlvaine Home Team, so we dedicate a portion of every real estate transaction to this worthwhile cause. Our aim is to equipping and empowering the youth of today so they thrive tomorrow. Steve also serves the Annandale & Falls Church area through participation in Annandale Christian Community Action (ACCA), and serves on the Board of his Civic Association as well as Treasurer of his neighborhood pool, Camelot Community Club. Real estate is more than homes, it’s about strengthening our community.
